The Sao Paulo Botanical Gardens

Looking a flower in the eye…
The Sao Paulo Botanical Gardens are situated in the Agua Funda area in the southern part of the city. This oasis of vegetation and oxygen is nestled in the Fontes do Ipiranga State park, a natural preserve on the Mata Atlântica.
Here you will come across the Dr. João Barbosa Rodrigues botanical museum, the Dr. Frederico Carlos Hoehne orchidarium, a series of glasshouses, a water-lily covered pond, and of course the Sao Paulo Botanical Institute.
