The University of São Paulo has its own museum, known as the Ipiranga Museum. The building is an integral part of the architectural complex within the Parque da Independência.
It is the largest university museum in the State, and one of the most visited in São Paulo.
The history of Sao Paulo is illustrated by over 125,000 objects such as jewels, coins, furniture and sculpture, dating from the 16th to the 20th century.
