Banespa Building

Celestial competition…
Standing at 161 metres in altitude for a total of 36 floors, the Banespa Building is one of the most notable sky-scrapers in the city of Sao Paulo. Showcasing the designs of Plinio Botelho do Amaral, the edifice was destined to be the seat of the State Bank of Sao Paulo between 1937 and 1947.
Also known as the Altino Arantes Building, the design was inspired by the famed Empire State and remained the tallest construction on the Sao Paulo skyline for over two decades. It would eventually be dethroned by the Italia Building.
